My God Shall Supply All Your Need

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

If we believe that promise we do not need to be the least little bit selfish. When God supplies all our needs we are free to supply the needs of others without fear of ever being deprived of what we need.

It is natural for our flesh to look out for number one. And it is wise to use the ability God gives us to provide for ourselves. Sometimes He provides for us by enabling us to acquire what we need. But we should endeavor to meet the needs of others just as much as we endeavor to meet our own needs. We need to love others. That is the most misunderstood and neglected need that we have. When we do not love others, we are also neglecting our own need, especially our need to please our Creator. God has loved our neighbors and His enemies and we, as His children, should love our neighbors and our enemies.

Matthew 5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
